I have always wanted to review this place. The food is not as good as it was when I was in high school, but I would put a "Shamrock" up against any of the best burgers in the country. Grub's is a Rock Springs staple and if you only get to eat at one place on your way through, eat at Grub's. The inside of the diner is a "horseshoe" shaped bar and it seats about 14 people. The wait staff is great and they attend to your every need. The food is served fast and you had better stock up on napkins. Don't be fooled by the outside of the diner, it is super clean and comfortable inside. Make sure you put Grub's as "must visit" on a trip to or through Rock Springs, WY.

Decided to try this place based on reviews...wasn't able to due to it not being open at 7:30am on a Friday morning. The hours listed on yelp, website and on the front door display 6am-8pm, Mon-Fri. Oh well. Despite being the only car there, parking was confusing. There were no lines to mark the spots. Also, the windows appear to be drive-thru....but I'm not actually sure if it was.....

You, and exactly 12 of your best friends can enjoy the burger deliciousness that IS Grub's Drive In. The place is small, quaint, and has exactly 13 stools at the one counter the building holds to sit with your pals and order the best burgers this town has to offer. The burgers have witty little names and the specials are borderline mastermind but they all boil down to "what kind of deliciousness do you want on your burger?" I suggest the bacon. In fact, if it was possible to just forego the entire burger and just eat large amounts of their bacon, you should do so until your heart explodes. The fries are hand cut marvels and just kick ass. They really are good and you can get good ol' fashioned "fry sauce" if you can't stand the taste of plain, awesome taters. Rumor has it they serve a mean breakfast as well. Based on the bacon, I might have to give it a try. Come on a weekday as these folks take the weekend off, and be prepared to sit next to someone you don't know. If you have social issues, order it to go and enjoy it in your car.

I ate lunch there as often as I could off & on from 1977 to 2005. If they still use the same chili recipe then get a basic burger and a bowl of Grub's chili to dip it in. Trust me!

Not healthy. Way too greasy on the fries. Salty burger w/cheese. Burger K is much better, including the price and ability to park at facility. We won't be back unless we're starving. Sorry, Grubs.

Nothing beats a cheese burger with extra cheese and extra onion, fries with gravy, and a vanilla milkshake - plain and simple "the best.

Not near the place it once was. The Shamrock Burger has shrunk the meat portion considerably, the quantitiy of fries was smaller. But, still the prices were up there. I ordered a malt and they didn't get the malt put in either. I will probably not be back. It is too bad, I used to like this place.

All I have to say is Shamrock-Fries-a bowl of gravy-and a vanilla malt!! This place is so freaking good. I know that I consumed about 2000 cals in one setting but it was well worth it. The burger is called the Shamrock, and it is huge and the fries are fresh peeled potatoes. They serve the fries with a side of brown gravy and it was a heart attack waiting to happen. You gotta love the little counter that only seats about 12 people at a time and it is well worth the wait if there is not a seat open. Yum yum!!

You have to order the Shamrock with the "deluxe" option; this means you get tomato and lettuce. This place has great ambiance, you might be sitting next to a banker on one side and an oilfield worker on the other, and everyone knows each other, even if they don't! Great calorie-laden cheeseburgers, greasy fries (don't forget the gravy) and malts. Awesome!
